Harvest Moon Boy and Girl on PSP: The guy's heart disappears!?

I doubt he is married to Ann because for rivals to marry you have to see all their rival events I think there's four and you can only see one per year or something like that so you don't seem far enough in the game to have them marry each other. I don't now why his heart is gone hopefully it will come back but you should still be able to marry him if you propose after you think his heart is at red. Also I'm not sure what's up with the festivals.
